The Pond Trail

Discover the Diana and Terrenzana Pond Trail

In the immediate vicinity of the Corsican naturist campsite, the "Path of the ponds" of Diana and Terrenzana allows you to walk in an original landscape typical of the Oriental Plain of Corsica: the salted ponds of the seaside. Come and discover our Corsican nature campsite.

With a budget of 390 000 €, 60% of which is financed by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF), this trail has been entirely developed by the Conservatoire du Littoral de Corse (Corsican Coastal Conservatory), with a view to sustainable development and environmental preservation.

It offers a hike of about 3 hours without any particular difficulties. Several routes are possible, starting on foot from Riva Bella, or from the 3 car parks located at different stages of the trail, for shorter durations..

The hilly path winds its way between sea, ponds and scrub, arriving at a natural plateau that offers remarkable viewpoints for observing nature, wild flora and fauna, which consists mainly of water birds (note the presence of many species of migratory birds in autumn and spring). Landscape interpretation tables set out along the walk will help you discover the history and culture of the site, which has been the domain of fishermen and oyster farmers since antiquity.

How to get to the Diana and Terrenzana ponds

From Riva Bella : 500m from the Thalasso going southwards, on the beach, take the "Sentier de Terrenzana" which goes into the scrub by one of the staircases enclosed by ganivelles (1). A loop leads to Riva Bella in a little over an hour, but it is possible, about halfway along the way, to extend the walk by taking the second path, which runs along the Pond of Diana, and then return along the track at the crossroads of the two itineraries (2), also for about an hour.

From the main road : leaving Riva Bella, just one kilometre after taking the T10 towards Aleria, turn left (a brown sign indicates ‘Terrenzana’) (3) onto the small road lined with eucalyptus trees (signposted "Chasse Pasqualini"). Continue on the dirt track and leave the closed track on the right, go around the cellar, enter between the houses surrounded by palisades (despite the sign "Privé") and,

  • or arrive at the "Pompugliani Parking" from where the "Diana's Path" leads to the belvedere (4)
  • or continue on the track to the "Stationnement du col", at the crossroads of two paths (2)
  • or go to the end of the track to the "Large beach car park" from where the "Terrenzana Trail" (5) starts.
